Open House Aerodynamics Workshop with Greenspeed Research and The Reuseum – October 18, 10:30AM – 12:30PM
Join us for this free open house on October 18 to visit with Greenspeed Research and learn about vehicle aerodynamics!
In 2012, Boise’s own Greenspeed Research set the land speed record for a vehicle powered by vegetable oil – that’s right, the same stuff you use to cook pancakes. They’re going for another record soon, and the Greenspeed truck has recorded some incredibly impressive horsepower on the dyno recently. We’re all confident a new record will be set!
At this fun open house, you’ll see the truck and meet the people that set the record. We’ll do an interactive lesson on vehicle aerodynamics and wind resistance, and visitors are welcome to design and build their own car models to see how they perform in our wind tunnel. We’ll also discuss various fuels and their future applications, and you’ll get an inside look at the next record Greenspeed is going after. There will be lots of time for Q&A!
Here are some cool images from the last time we did this workshop.
Don’t miss out on this free, super-fun event. Appropriate for all ages.
